Bakker originally made this design for a competition held by Dunlop the rubber manufacturers. The chair was fashioned by folding a long rectangular piece of foam rubber at an angle of 90 degrees and clamping it into a metal frame, as if the one half were lying on the floor and the other pushed against the wall. The foam rubber is clad in denim, the frame sprayed carrot colour and stitched on the back is a magnified take of a rear trouser pocket to keep newspapers and magazines in. Also in a corner seat version.
